Junior Representative Program
ABA Representative Program
Albury Basketball has an active and growing Representative Program that provides opportunities for our players to take their game to the next level. All representative teams are made up of domestic Albury Basketball players, with ages ranging from 9–18 years.
Currently, Albury competes in the NSW Waratah Southern Junior League (SJL) and the Junior Premier League (JPL). These leagues provide an excellent pathway for players to:
-
Compete at a NSW Country level
-
Test themselves against some of the best junior basketballers in the state
-
Continue developing their skills in a highly competitive environment
Travel & Competition
Due to our regional location, travel is a key part of the representative experience. Players may compete in tournaments and fixtures in Newcastle, Canberra, and Illawarra, as well as events within the Sydney region and across Victoria. This exposure allows athletes to experience different styles of play and environments, while also building strong bonds with their teammates.
Our Aim
The ABA Representative Program is designed to create an environment where players of all ages and divisions can reach their potential. Key aspects of the program include:
-
Constant skill development
-
Fostering a desire and effort to improve
-
Instilling a commitment to the association, the team and the individual
-
Recognizing and acknowledging different rates of development
-
Developing a positive attitude towards team mates, coaches, referees and the opposition
-
Enjoying the game of basketball
Announcements for trials and important dates can be found in the news section or on our social media.
