Lauren Jackson Sports Centre Renovation Update

Major Milestone Accomplished

Following the commissioning of the refurbished courts 4 and 5 at the newly renovated Lauren Jackson Sports Centre AlburyCity are very excited to announce that the new front entrance and amenities will be open to the public from Friday 15^th August.

This is a major milestone in the project with this side of the Lauren Jackson Sports Centre now two thirds bigger and all areas of the building are new or  have been refurbished.

What does this mean for users of the facility:

• As of Friday 15^th August, 2025 entry to the facility will be back through the normal front entrance off North St.

• Parking will still be located at the East end of the building and the access path will be the same as it was prior to the renovation commencing.

• The entry driveway at the front of the building has been remodeled and is strictly a drop and go or pick up area.

• At the front door of the building there is a new pedestrian crossing which is clearly marked and also a raised speed hump to slow traffic.

• Construction work is still continuing on courts 1,2 and 3 and we are looking forward to this being completed toward the end of 2025.
  

Other things to be aware of:

• All grassed areas around the building have been landscaped and grass re-seeded.  All areas are blocked off and we ask everyone to stay on the paths around the building and do not walk on the blocked off areas.

• Please remember we are still a construction site and STRICTLY NO ACCESS areas must be complied with.

• The layout and floor plan of the building is different.

• There is clearly marked “way finding” signage in the building to help you find what you are looking for.

• Public toilets are in a new location in the west end of the building which is clearly marked.

• Multiple water filling stations are now available at both ends of the building.

• There are multiple new event spaces which will only be accessible during scheduled events.

• Kiosk operations will start back up once we recommission the space.  This may not be available from day 1 but won’t be far away.

AlburyCity are looking forward to sharing the new venue spaces and refurbished areas with everyone and ask that you respect the work that has been done to turn our 40 year old building into a fantastic new facility which we can enjoyed for years to come.
